Plastic Canvas Baby Shower Basket or Wedding Favor Basket

         Make with or without lace around basket

          Materials (Michael’s Arts and Crafts)

              One sheet 10-count plastic canvas

              Plastic canvas needle

            2 skien DMC #5200 white

            1 skien DMC #333

            1 skien DMC #605

            1 skien DMC #3851

            1 skien DMC #964

            1 skien DMC #602

            1 skien DMC #3846

            1 skien DMC #3843

            1 skien DMC #340

            1 roll Model crafts S-1111 white lace

            1 pack dress it up…change your buttons#790

            1 pack of Wilton 6 favor accents baby bracelets

            1 package of Wilton peppermint pearls candy

Outer Box      Cutting instructions

  1. Cut five 18 x 18(four sides and one bottom)

 

Stitching instructions for outer box

 

  1. Using colors and stitches indicated, work according to graphs and instructions
  2. Whipstitch four sides together to create a box using # 5200
  3. Whipstitch box to bottom using # 5200
  4. Whipstitch around the top of the box using # 5200

Lining the inside of the box

Cutting instructions for lining the inside of the box

  1. Cut two 17 x 18
  2. Cut two 18 x 18

 

Gluing instructions for lining the inside of the box

  1. Glue the two 17 x 18 to opposite sides of the inside of the box
  2. Glue the two 18 x 18 to the remaining sides of the inside of the box 

If you do not want any plastic showing, stitch the lining before you glue it to the inside of the box

 

 

Handle

Cutting instructions for handle

  1. Cut one 4 x 38(handle)

 

Stitching instructions for handle

  1. Using colors and stitches indicated, work according to graphs and instructions
  2. Whipstitch around the handle using # 5200
  3. Cut two pieces of lace as long as the handle and glue the trim part of the lace to the back of the handle (trim is the flat part of the lace)

Front side of handle

Glue the end tabs(two squares at the end of the handle) to the inside of the box

  

           Glue the trim section of one piece of lace to the center, with the lace facing down.      

                          

    Glue the other piece to the center with the lace facing up.

  Glue on the embellishment of your choice. Place baby bracelet over the center on the handle. Fill with candy
